Afternoon Tea At The Ivy.

A few weeks ago, The Ivy opened up in my hometown, and it's been kind of a big deal. The people of Tunbridge Wells love anything over priced and slightly pretentious, so I'm sure you can imagine the hype surrounding this opening. It's the talk of the town, so of course I had to see what all the fuss is about.

My mum and I booked afternoon tea, and thought it would be the perfect way to kick of the festivities. If you can't treat yourself at Christmas, then when can you?

The only other one I had been to before, is The Ivy Garden in Chelsea, and although exquisite, had prices that made my eyes water. Naturally we expected the same in Tunbridge Wells. However, we were pleasantly surprised that this wasn't the case. The vast menu options varied from breakfast, brunch, afternoon tea, light snacks, greasy food, fancy food, and a very tempting waffle menu. All of which varied in price too.

We went for the cream tea, which was only £8.75; an amazing price for the amount you get. It comes with three warm freshly bakes fruit scones, clotted cream, strawberry jam, the tastiest little strawberries I've ever tasted, and of course a pot of tea. Every part of it was utterly delicious and we were completely full. Even though they recommend one each, sharing one between us would have been plenty.

Of course we had to order a few glasses of Prosecco to wash it down with. It would have been rude not to right?

The whole experience was amazing. The food was delightful, the staff were the friendliest I've experienced in a long time, plus the Christmas decorations were up, so the whole place looked incredible.

The perfect start to my favourite month of the year!

Book your table soon, because there is already quite the waiting list.
