Product Review: L'Oreal Paris Paradise Mascara.

There has been a lot of hype around L'Oreal's latest mascara release. The L'Oreal Paris Paradise Mascara has been talked about by every beauty blogger and YouTuber, so I thought I'd give it a try and see what all the fuss is about.

Lets start by seeing what L'Oreal say about it...

  • Intense volume
  • Spectacular length
  • Ultra-soft brush
  • Silky smooth formula
  • Lash-loving castor oil (which helps lash growth)
  • Leashes feel feather-soft, without flaking

Quite the bold claims.

I am quite the mascara connoisseur, so usually know how I feel about a mascara straight away. This one however, I couldn't make my mind up on for ages - hence the long review.

My first reaction was that it was amazing. And long story short, it is. It definitely has intense volume and spectacular length. The brush is ultra-soft, and the formula is very smooth. However, the other claims, not so much.

It says that the product has castor oil in it, which helps your lashes to grow. I naturally have quite long lashes so maybe this isn't a benefit for me, however I've not noticed any lash growth. Also, it claims to leave your lashes feeling feather soft, without flaking. Although flaking hasn't been too much of a problem, my lashes definitely don't feel feather soft either.

I have also encountered a few other problems. Firstly, the brush is huge. This is something which took a while to get to grips with. It makes doing the bottom lashes such a task, and if you have small eyes, you may struggle with this a lot.

The other big problem for me is how much of a pain it is to remove. I believe there is a waterproof version, however I'm sure I just picked the regular one up. Getting makeup off is never a problem for me, it's getting it to stay on which I have problems with, so I've never invested in high end makeup removers because I've never needed to. L'Oreal say that the mascara should come off with ease using just soap and water... no chance!!! I've been using micellar water, Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish, then the Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser to get it to come off, and sometimes that isn't even enough - I'm calling it the Kylie Lip Kit of mascaras.

On the plus side, it's definitely waterproof, including shower and cry proof! Also, something I struggle with when using mascaras is transfer both on my eye lids and under my eyes. I've not had this problem once with this mascara, which is a complete game changer for me.

Drug store mascaras are seriously stepping up their game right now, with L'Oreal always being my go to brand for mascaras. Although this one takes a little getting to know, it is definitely an amazing mascara for the way it looks. Honestly, you only need one coat and you're good to go.

And it's Jeffree Star approved, so what more conformation to buy it do you need?

Buy it here, for £11.99.
