What I Bought In NYC.

Last month I went to New York for the first time, and I wanted to do as much as I possibly could in two days, so there wasn't a whole lot of time for shopping. However, I couldn't go to New York and not get a little bit spendy.

As we didn't have much time to hit the shops I arrived with a plan. I had my eye on a few things (see my shopping list here), and ended up getting most things on the list! I was very good and didn't buy any clothes, however my inner beauty junkie doesn't have quite as much control.
First of all I made a beeline for Glossier. Beauty bloggers around the globe (*cough* Anna *cough*) are losing their minds over the trendy beauty brand, and I couldn't not see what the fuss was about. Expect a complete run down on my Glossier experience soon, but one thing I bought was the Stretch Concealer in medium. I think it's safe to say I'm completely obsessed and can't get enough of it.
I also couldn't go to Glossier and not pick up the famous Milky Jelly Cleanser. I was so excited to get my hands on this and, surprise surprise I'm completely obsessed with it. I have to restrain myself from using it every day because it's so damn hard to get hold of in the UK.
I bought the L'Oreal True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation last year when I was in The States, and it very quickly became a firm favourite of mine. When it ran out I rushed to Boots and purchased the UK version which I believe is the same, it just has a different name; Nude Magique Cushion Foundation. The only thing I found is the shade range is different. The shade I bought in the UK just wasn't doing it for me, so I couldn't wait to get my hands on this when I was in New York.
Picture this. My family and I arriving at Heathrow airport, excited about our holiday. We're planning our few days in NYC, and fantasising about 10 days chilling in Florida. We walk through customs, relieved none of us got stopped. Then it hit me. I realise I'm about to go on a two week holiday and forgot to pack a single lipstick!!! For about 2 minutes my life was over. Okay, I might be overreacting a little bit, but this was a big deal for me. I couldn't believe how stupid I had been. How could I forget something that I think about almost every day? Once I reminded myself that I wasn't going to the middle of the desert, and believe it or not they do sell lipstick in America, as well as the fact my mum and sister were well equipped, I eventually got over it.

As my mum had a red lippy, and my sister a nude, I decided I was only going to buy just one lipstick. It took about a billion years (can you tell I like to be dramatic?), but eventually I came to the decision on the Maybelline Colour Sensational Creamy Matte Lipstick in 682 Blushing Pout. I don't have a lipstick like this in my current collection, so I knew I would get use out of it at home too. It's a very flattering shade with a tan, and a really nice, creamy formula too.
Another product raved about by the world and their wife is the IT Cosmetics CC Cream, so I thought I'd give it a go too. It is such a game changer in the summer when you don't want a heavy base, leaving a really fresh, glowy finish. I really love it and now it's available in Selfridges I can't wait to try out more from the brand.
