January Favourites.

Okay, so I’ve been rather slacking when it comes to uploads over here. I don’t think I’ve consistently uploaded since the summer, which isn’t good. I’m currently in my last few months in my final year at uni, so my focus has been shifted slightly. However, I’m not going to let that stop me from blogging, so what I’ve decided to do is monthly favourites posts. That way it forces me to upload something, and have blogging on my mind so I don’t neglect it completely. Obviously, I hope to upload more regularly than once a month, but I feel like it’s a good way to get back into the swing of things.

Anyway, ramble over! Here’s what I’ve been loving throughout January…

Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Nail Polish - Game of Chromes
Although I’m rarely seen without nail polish on, I’m not into nails that much, usually opting for a neutral colour that will go will every outfit and last as long as possible. However, I was watching my fave YouTuber Lydia , and couldn’t help but notice how incredible her nail polish looked over December. When she mentioned it in this video, I knew I had to get my hands on it. It’s the perfect polish if, like me, usually go for a neutral polish, but want to try something a bit different. Gold goes with everything, and it’s almost like accessorising for the girl who doesn’t like accessories.

Charlotte Tilbury Scent Of A Dream Perfume
When I opened the most beautiful, silver, silk, drawstring bag at Christmas, the last thing I expected to find was Charlotte Tilbury’s new perfume. But I felt so lucky when I did. Over December, every time I walked past the Charlotte Tilbury counter I’d spray myself with the tester, but could never justify spending the money on something for myself just before Christmas. Whenever I did spritz myself with it I would ALWAYS get a compliment about my fragrance, and still do. I’m completely shocking when describing smells, however take my word for it, it’s such a unique warm scent. At first it might seem a little strong, but let it settle, and I promise you’ll be obsessed.

Colouring Books
I have been sucked in by the adult colouring book obsession for about 2 years now. To begin with I bought one just because I was jumping on the band wagon, and it barely got touched. However, last summer I went to America, and as a nervous flyer, thought it would be good way to keep occupied, and I kind of became obsessed. A have four now, but the one i'm working on at the moment (also a Christmas prezzie) is the Vogue colouring book. It is such a great way to relax and forget about all the nonsense going on in our lives. I’m not going to lie, I do feel a bit daft sometimes, and my family seem to find the most hilarious thing ever, but if you’re a stressed person, I really recommend it.

Revlon ColorStay Concealer
My all-time favourite concealer is the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer. However, it's £23 a pop, and when wearing it every day, I soon get through it. It became a rather expensive luxury to keep repurchasing it, so I began the hunt for a more affordable alternative for everyday use. It definitely a case of trial and error, but I picked up the Revlon concealer and although it doesn’t have the longevity, it’s pretty much the exact same product! I seriously love it, and it is one of my favourite ever concealers - and as someone who is very concealer-loyal, this is saying something.

Kylie Cosmetics Lip Kit - Candy K
I told myself I wouldn’t cave into Kylie Jenner’s cosmetics products, despite itching to get my hands on a Lip Kit. However, this Christmas I was very spoilt and my sister got me a Lip Kit in the colour Candy K. This isn’t a review of the product, otherwise I’d be rambling all day, however the fact it’s made my monthly favourites is a review in itself. Candy K is perfect brown/nude colour, and I actually really love the product too. The lip liner is possibly one of my favourite liners ever, and the liquid lipstick is a really soft, INCREDIBLY long lasting product. I do find though, that it can be a little drying after a while, but still well worth it. I also must mention that it was apparently a nightmare when buying it; just the usual extra prices added on, tax, etc. Nothing I’m sure you haven’t heard before, but just a quick heads up.

Label Maker
A recent and very random purchase, however my label maker is quickly becoming my new favourite toy. If I’m honest, it’s a completely unnecessary contraption, but if you’re a stationary enthusiast like myself, it’ll keep you entertained for hours. I got mine from Amazon, however I recently noticed they sell them in WHSmith too.

Lemon Water
In case you haven’t gathered by now, I love a good fad. I’m not someone who is that into health and fitness, but over winter I find myself eating so much bad food, and just end up feeling really unhealthy. I’m a big Tom Daley fan, and he uploaded a video about the benefits of drinking lemon water and I found it really interesting. I’m not going to lie, I don’t feel a whole lot different, but it’s doing my body so much good. The taste nearly makes me sick every time, however, it’s a really great way of waking me up in the mornings and has just become part of my daily routine.

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge
I did a post last year about my conversion to the sponge, so check that out for a full review! My sponge of choice it the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge, and seriously can’t imagine doing my makeup without it. I don’t often use it for foundation, just because I really don’t have the time for that. However, for concealer, and any other cream products (highlighter, blush, bronzer etc.) I love it and have noticed such a difference since using it. It really does create the most seamless smooth base, and actually makes my skin look really glowy too. If you haven’t given it try, then do; it’s life changing when doing my makeup every day.
