H&M Beauty Review.

I have been testing and trying the new H&M makeup for months now, to the point where the products have completely run out. As much as I wish I could say this is because I was doing extremely thorough research, it's really not. I have just been so busy with uni deadlines that blogging has been pushed aside. But i'm back, and plan on uploading more regularly.

Now, back to the new collection. It was very highly anticipated as there are very few high street stores, besides Topshop who have succeeded in releasing beauty products.

Firstly, I was shocked by the huge range of products, making me think the person behind it has a real expert knowledge and knew it would be a success. So with so much to choose from I narrowed it down to just 3 products; the powder, concealer, and loose glitter.

I really love the box packaging, but the actual product packaging feels a bit cheap and plastic. However, it really isn't expensive, so I guess they're not bad for what they are.

POWDER
I was really disappointed becuase when I got home and opened it, the powder had completely smashed everywhere. Now, this may or may not have something to do with when I face-planted the escalator running for my train, dropping the contents of my bag in the process! However, despite it probably being all my fault, I was really annoyed so thought I would see what they said, and after a little bit of eyelash fluttering, they were actually very helpful and gave me a full refund.

As far as the product goes, i'm actually very impressed by it. What drew me to it, was the 'shine control' claim, and it definitely does that. It's still nowhere near as good as my trusty Rimmel Stay Matte powder, but it is still good.

It doesn't look cakey, however I do find that if you start to apply quite a lot you can definitely feel the product on your skin - it's not a lightweight product.

I also love that it has a mirror in the compact, which is super handy for on the go touch ups.

CONCEALER PEN
Much like with powder, I am very loyal to my concealers, very rarely venturing away from Collection, Rimmel, NARS or Touche Eclat. However, I saw this product and was drawn to it, thinking it could be a good dupe for the YSL Touche Eclat. Spoiler alert... it wasn't.

When I first opened it, to begin with I thought it was faulty becuase it took ages of clicking before any product came out. When I did get it to work I really wasn't blown away. Saying that, the more I used it, it did grow on me. It definitely isn't a concealer, as it is very sheer and gives almost no coverage. However, under the eyes as a brightener, I do quite like it, particularly just for low key makeup days.

Also, if you are someone who doesn't wear a lot of makeup or are just getting into makeup, this would be great for you as it is very lightweight, but still evens out your skin ever so slightly.

What I do like though is the shade I picked up was the same name as the powder. It makes it so much easier if all the products are the same name, saving you trying to colour match every product in the shop.

LOOSE GLITTER
This was a serious magpie moment. I'm not normally a glitter kinda girl, but as soon as I saw this I darted straight towards it. I have never owned a product like this before, simply becuase, other than MAC, very few brands, especially drugstore, offer it. H&M really are the first with something good here.

I got it at the beginning of December (see I told you it's been a long time), and thought it would be perfect for the upcoming party season. And let me tell you, I got so many complements wearing this over Christmas and New Year. It is such a beautiful product which looks incredible, especially when it catches the light.

I opted of the gold colour, however there were 5 to choose from, all of which looked amazing. I was very close to purchasing the rosegold one too!

I seriously recommend this product, however, there is one serious issue, and that is there is a major fall out problem. It drove me mad to begin with. I suggest doing concealer after the eyes, however once you get the hang of it, you will love it.
