Album Review: Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds 'Chasing Yesterday'

Their self titled first album was such an incredible album, and one which I never get bored of. Therefore, in my eyes, there was a lot of pressure for this album to match the amazingness of the first one.

Although I don't think it is even half as good as the first one, I still really love it. He hasn't tried to steer away from the 'Oasis' sound either, which I like too. I think if Oasis were to release an album today it would sound much like this.

The guitars on this album are insanely good, but to be honest I wouldn't expect anything else. This gives off an anthemic feel to it.

It is a really cool, timeless sound, which won't get boring. The best way I can sum it up is that it is just a really easy listen, where you don't have to think about it too much, just enjoy it.

I highly recommend it at the moment if you're stuck at home revising, trying to write an essay, or just looking for background music at work. It's really great, without being a distraction.

My favourite tracks off the album...
Riverman
In the Heat of the Moment
Ballad of the Mighty I
Lock all the Doors
The Mexican
You Know We Can't Go Back
