Product Review: Topshop's 'The Foundation'

I got sent a sample of this foundation in the post, and as a big lover of Topshop makeup I couldn't wait to try it out.

The first thing I noticed was the shade was way off, as in I looked very Oompa Lompa esk.  Obviously they aren't to know what my skin tone is, so I just accepted the fact it was going to be a not leaving the house day.

I'm going to pre warn you. I really didn't like the foundation. At all.
However, there were a few things I liked about it. It is really easy to apply and slips on nicely (if that's a thing). That's it though.

Now to the nitty gritty...

Topshop make a lot of claims about this product:

1. It lasts all day.
It is not long lasting at all. After a few hours I found it went really patchy.

2. It's suitable for all skin types.
I have really oily skin with dry patches. I found this foundation felt really wet for a long time on my skin yet at the same time it really clung to the dry patches.

3. It's described as a silky foundation.
I describe it as oily and greasy.

4. It's medium coverage.
I found it very thin and light coverage, almost like a tinted moisturiser.

I completely understand the whole 'The Face' campaign their doing, trying to go for the whole no make up make up look which I love, because it's bringing the catwalk beauty trends to the highstreet.

However, I really am not a fan of this foundation. Also I think at £16 it is expensive for what it is.

It may be one of those products though which is different for everyone.
