My Autumn Essentials: Fashion

The scarf which goes with everything
I am definitely a scarf person, which means that my extensive collection comes out every year and still manages to grow. However, I think it is so essential to have that one scarf which you wear to death because it keeps you warm, looks good, and goes with everything.

Faux Fur Gilet
My number one autumn staple it this super fluffy and very comfy gilet from Stradivarius. It keeps you warm and toasty when the beautiful autumn sunshine doesn't come out, despite the fact it has no sleeves.

Leather Jacket
My Miss Selfridge has proven to be the perfect autumn jacket as it's not to heavy but keeps you warm when the autumn breeze picks up.

Knitted Jumper
A cosy knit is my number one autumn must have every year. Easy to style, with minimal effort involved.

Cotton Shirt
A cotton shirt is perfect for unpredictable autumn weather as it is so layerable.

I tend to stick to trousers in the colder months, but that doesn't mean I want to be boring. I think autumn is the perfect time of year to experiment with different coloured jeans.

Tartan is a trend which comes back every autumn and I love it. I think it's the perfect way for people who don't normally go for patterns, to step out the comfort zone a bit. Plus you can get tartan prints on anything, so you can wear the trend as little or as much as you like.

Big Fedora Hat
I only recently ventured into hats. During the autumn/winter everyone seems to be rocking a beanie. Not me, I look ridiculous in them. However I do love the fedora trend to I though I would be a bit brave and try it out. Although everytime I put it on I am VERY aware it on my head, I kinda love it. It is perfect for bad hair days, and I always get complimented on it (which is never a bad thing)!

Slip On Plimsolls
This style of shoe is very popular at the moment. I have never been a sporty shoes type of person, but I was in need of an in between summer and autumn shoe, so popped into Office and bought these. I didn't just want a plain black pair, so I opted for the snake skin style ones. They were exactly what I was looking for and go with everything. They are also a lot more flattering than I thought which is never a bad thing. The only thing I will say is they ruin your feet. This is a big issue for me, as I can never wear them for more than 15mins without my heels starting to bleed. I hear this is the case with the Topshop ones too, so that would be the only thing I would watch out for. This may be a shoe worth investing in slightly. In hindsight, I wish I has bought the pair by Vans

Ankle Boots
I got these boots when I was in sixth form in the sale from Topshop (similar). I really wanted a shoe in this colour for the autumn and winter, as well as being in desperate need for a pair of boots for school. I came across these and just had to get a pair. The only problem is they only had a size 8 - so I bought them. Being a size 7 I thought I could get away with it. Although in the photo they don't look too bad, in reality they do look a little weird, as many people have oh so kindly pointed out to me. However they are easily the most comfy pair of shoes I own and go with everything. They may be a little clompy, but I shall continue to wear them until they begin to fall apart.

A black ankle boot is a wardrobe staple for anytime of the year. However I seem to find myself drawn more to them in the autumn because they go with absolutely everything. My trusty pair from Next are worn to death, and I love to whip out my classic Topshop heels to glam an autumn look up.

Unfortunately a lot of the things I own are no longer available as i've had them for a while, but I have managed to find similar alternative pieces, which achieve an equally great look for the autumn.
