I am going to begin by congratulating L'Oreal on their incredibly persuasive marketing strategies that seem to be taking over make up lovers' across the globe. Very few people are not familiar with the extremely captivating advert that makes the product seem like the most luxurious on the high street. Well it's no surprise that I got equally as sucked in as everyone else and headed straight to my local boots to give them a try for myself.

I opted for the beautiful shade in 'Beauty Opera' (304), which is just a classic red shade, appropriate for all skin tones. As a colour I love it, as a product I love it!! It really is as it appears on the ad - a very magnificent liquid lipstick. It is a simple as that. The formula is not too sticky and very long lasting which is all I can ask for. When I first applied it, i'm not going to lie... it was a bit scary. They incredibly high pigmentation means that even the slightest mistake stands out a lot. However, once mastering the application it wasn't so terrifying after all - practice makes perfect. I couldn't help but notice though that the product was suspiciously similar to the YSL Rouge Pur Couture Vernis À Lèvres! Now after a spot of Googling I discovered that L'Oreal and YSL are actually part of the same company. In fact, I believe YSL Beauté is part of L'Oreal's luxury products division. Therefore I presume they are make at the same place or at least in a similar way (Don't quote me on that, I could be wrong). I haven't tried the YSL product, however after watching a recent Lily Pebbles video, it sounds as if L'Oreal have produced a good drugstore alternative, which is always good.

The product is is available almost everywhere - and selling quick, so if you are unsure about it yet, check out the really cool interactive website here, where you can see what every shade looks like.
